Western Copper and Gold Corporation Voluntarily Withdraws from Cyanide Code Program

The International Cyanide Management Institute announced today that Western Copper and Gold Corporation, a gold mining company based in Canada, has voluntarily withdrawn as a signatory to the International Cyanide Management Code (Cyanide Code). Western Copper and Gold became a signatory to the Cyanide Code on July 8, 2015. The withdrawal is effective this date.

The Cyanide Code is a voluntary industry program for companies involved in the production of gold and/or silver using cyanide and companies manufacturing and transporting this cyanide. A detailed list of the operations covered by signatory companies’ applications, along with the full text of the Cyanide Code and its implementing and administrative documents, are available at www.cyanidecode.org.
