The International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) announced today that it has accepted the application of Perpetua Resources Idaho, Inc. located in the United States, to become a mining Signatory to the International Cyanide Management Code (Cyanide Code). Perpetua Resources Idaho, Inc. is a mining company developing the Stibnite Gold Project in Idaho.

By becoming a Cyanide Code signatory, Perpetua Resources Idaho, Inc. commits to following the Cyanide Code’s Principles and implementing its Standards of Practice, as well as having a certification audit of the Stibnite Gold Project conducted by independent third-party auditors within one year from first delivery of cyanide at the listed operation, and every three years thereafter. Operations are certified if found in compliance with the Code and may be de-certified if it is determined that they no longer comply with the Cyanide Code.

The Cyanide Code is a risk-based assurance program focused on the safe and environmentally responsible management of cyanide by companies producing gold and/or silver and by companies manufacturing, warehousing, and transporting cyanide. It is intended to complement an operation’s existing obligation to comply with the applicable laws and regulations of the political jurisdiction in which the operation is located.

ICMI has been established to administer the Cyanide Code, promote its adoption, evaluate its implementation, and manage the certification process.
