ICMI’s Vancouver and Elko Training Workshops Coming Soon; Elko Lessons Learned Program Details Now Available

The International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) reminds its stakeholders that it will be conducting International Cyanide Management Code (Code) training workshops in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and Elko, Nevada, USA in mid-February, and is still accepting registrations.

On February 13, ICMI will hold a one-day workshop in Vancouver on the implementation and auditing of the Code. This one-day session is for personnel of companies that have an interest in the Code, as signatories or potential signatories to the Code, auditors and prospective auditors, and other parties that may have an interest in learning more about best practice in cyanide management in the gold sector. ICMI Vice President Norm Greenwald will provide an overview of the Code and its certification process, and discuss Code requirements applicable to gold mines.

On February 15 in Elko, ICMI will conduct its Code implementation and auditing workshop, followed on February 16 by a day-long session featuring presentations on lessons learned from Code implementation and certification by Code-certified gold mines and cyanide producers and Code auditors. The speakers and the topics of their presentations is now available http://cyanidecode.org/pdf/ElkoFlyer2012.pdf.

Additional information on these training workshops and registration materials are available on the ICMI web site at the following link: http://cyanidecode.org/auditors_training.php.
