ICMI to Hold Training and Lessons Learned Workshops in Colombia and Peru in October 2012

The International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) will hold Cyanide Code training workshops in Colombia and Peru in October 2012. The workshops are designed for personnel of companies that have signed or intend to sign up to the Cyanide Code, auditors and prospective auditors, and others that have an interest in learning more about the Cyanide Code’s implementation and auditing.

On October 11, 2012, ICMI will hold a full-day training workshop in Ibagué, Colombia on the implementation and auditing of the Cyanide Code.

On October 15 – 16, 2012, ICMI will hold a two-day training workshop in Lima, Peru on the Cyanide Code’s implementation and auditing, and on the practical lessons learned from its implementation and auditing. On the first day, ICMI Vice President Norm Greenwald will provide an overview of the Cyanide Code and its certification process, and discuss Cyanide Code requirements for gold mines and cyanide transporters.  The second day will feature presentations from Cyanide Code-certified gold mines about their experiences with Code implementation and certification.
