One Production Signatory and Three Transport Signatories Withdraw from Cyanide Code Program

The International Cyanide Management Institute announced today that the production signatory Posabro S.A. de C.V. (Mexico), and the transport signatories Protea Mining Chemicals (South Africa), Transportes Acoinsa S.A.C. (Peru), and Transporte y Servicios Multiples Egoavil S.A.C. (Peru) have withdrawn as signatories to the International Cyanide Management Code (Cyanide Code). The withdrawals are effective this date.

Posabro S.A. de C.V.’s La Colorado box to sparge cyanide transfer facility in Mexico was certified in full compliance under the Cyanide Code in 2015 and in 2018.  The three transporters had not yet been certified.

The Cyanide Code is a voluntary industry program of best practice for companies involved in the production of gold and/or silver using cyanide and companies producing and transporting this cyanide. It was developed under the aegis of the United Nations Environment Programme by a multi-stakeholder Steering Committee. The full list of current Cyanide Code signatories is available here, and the full text of the Cyanide Code and its implementing and administrative documents are available at
